CONSTRUCTION COMMENTS

Intended as a submission for the Ironcat Studios 2002 Kitty Calendar, I wasn't concerned with craftsmanship. Everything but the ears, tail & chemise were bought at the ren faire. Those I had to make. The chemise I could've bought, but I wanted the fabric to be on the sheer side - found a fabulous cotton/linen blend for the job! Plus all the garb makers use elastic in their chemises. I prefer drawstring.

I was under some time constraints because I didn't want to make the bodice, so I had to wait for the ren faire to open to get one. Then I had just one more weekend to get photos done in order to meet the deadline!

SPECIAL NOTES

Why a wench-style kitty, you might ask? When Ironcat debuted the 2001 calendar at Katsucon that year, they were recruiting for the 2002 issue. Steve Bennett knows me well from my Sailor Moon costumes and asked me directly to participate. I got a copy, to get an idea of what they wanted, but I'm not the lingerie or furry bikini type, so I told him I'd think about it. Later, during opening ceremonies, it hit me! I was looking for an idea that none of these girls could do. I'm a RENNIE -- been romping around in wench garb for _years_. duh. So I set out to create my kitty.

She HAD to be a saucy redhead. Floral bodice. Pastels. GREEN, foremost, to accent the hair. Substituted Black Prince chainmail jewelry for a collar. The rest fell into place. ^_^

And when I learned that the calendar was put on hold, I decided to screw the "surprise" and wear it at cons, cuz dammit, it's a cute costume and I wasn't about to leave it in a box after the effort (and money) I put into it.
