It was the debut of the Usagi wig I bought, but since then I've gone back to the "natural" look, with really long pony-falls!
Photo was taken at the New York Renaissance Festival on Labor Day 1998 by Kathy Vink.
With me are Natasha as Sailor Mercury and horsey-boy Sir Eric.

SOURCE Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon DATE FINISHED Halloween 1996 CON DEBUT Technically, Gen-con 1997. Anime, Katsucon 4 (1998) CONSTRUCTION COMMENTS This is my first anime costume. I've made several improvements to it since that "version 1.0" because I'm always finding different ways to make things! I'm thinking about remaking the fuku entirely. I really like how they did the skirt in the live action show, and the leotard really needs better lycra fabric... I made both lockets out of Sculpy and painted them. The jewels are glued on. The tiara is cut from really thin hobby sized sheet brass. The detail was made with a stylus. The cabachon is glued on. I bent the ends a little so I could just hook it into my hair -- no glue needed there! I eventually got a wig from Fifi Mahoney. I wasn't sure at first how I'd look with crayon yellow hair, but I like how it looks with the costumes. It was fun being able to use my own hair, but my hair is super-fine and the style was wreaking havoc! SPECIAL NOTES -
